On November 5, 2016, gamers will set aside 24 hours to raise funds for Extra Life — a charity event that supports the Children’s Miracle Network. It’s like Walk For Alzheimer’s, but instead of putting on our walking shows — we take up our controllers, our dice, and whatever else we game with.
We’ve talked about it a lot on our show, and ClumsyG will be hosting events all over Salinas when he’s not streaming on Twitch.
You may have heard about how you can get involved. Here’s how!
1. Fundraise. Sign up at the Extra Life site and start spreading the word about what you’re going to do on November 5. You don’t have to be a video gamer — Extra Life wants gamers of all types. That includes board gamers, lovers of tag, pool hall denizens, and pick-up sticks legends.
2. Join the team. The HyperGeeks have a team ready to play games and make some money for our local hospitals.
3. Donate. Whether it’s a dollar or more — every bit helps! Remember, it’s for the kids.
4. Talk about it. Extra Life is a relatively new organization, and the more people that know about it, the easier it will be to let people know what day it is on Saturday.
